About Me
I started to play tennis at the age of 10. This was mostly group sessions for Hot Shots. I entered the Hot Shot of the year competition where I was selected for the month of January. I was treated to a week at the Australia Open, getting to meet a variety of players. I was lucky enough at during the event to be able to have a hit with Novak Djokovic. This is where my love for tennis really exploded.
From there the local coach took me on but after a season decided that he was too busy to continue with private lessons, so we had to look for an alternative coach. We were extremely lucky to have Andrew Crossman take me on where I developed very quickly under his guidance. Eighteen months after this we moved coaches to a closer location and continued working on my tennis. After working with a series of coaches with the Victoria Futures program in Bendigo between 2018- 2021, I met my current coach Calun McCarthy who offered me a completely different pathway and options that my family and I had no idea existed.
It has been a diverse journey as coming from a small country town, unless we commit to travel, we are very much limited to opportunities that are available to us. If it wasn’t for meeting Calum during the Victorian Futures program, I was involved in in Bendigo and then moving with him to Melbourne I wouldn’t have this opportunity to travel today.
I live with my parents and my younger sister. My older brother has moved out of home to complete year 11 & 12 with a high-performance football school (AFL), but he comes home on weekends to play with his club. We have 2 Rottweilers Chewy and Tink. Chewy is very lazy but Tink loves a tennis ball or two.
At this point my interest include tennis (obviously), working out and sleeping. But I’m hoping that my future will include some level of profession tennis and further development of my newly established tennis coaching business. If these options don’t come to fruition, I would like to be involved in the police force to some degree. But continue to play highly competitive tennis on a more local level.
